HOLY BUSY WEEK

Alright so I need to write this all on my blog before I forget anything because I forget a lot of things lately!

Beyla had her 4 month (she was a little over 4.5 months) appointment on April 18th and her stats are as follows:
Weight- 14lbs even                              : 43%
Height- 25.5 inches                              : 79%
Head circumference- 16.25 inches      : 45%

What happened to my itty bitty baby?! As per usual she pooped through her clothes right before they called us back. She got her shots and did so well! I hate that sad little/big cry she does, makes my heart break! She got a nasty fever the next day but other then that she was good!

The same day Beyla had her fever Brody came down with a horrible cough and runny nose.

Raul had been feeling under the weather and extremely thirsty and hungry since around his birthday, April 8th (HAPPY 28th my love!!). Finally last Saturday, April 19th, we went to quick care to see if he needed to be rehydrated. He was sooooo thirsty and his mouth was extremely dry no matter what, nothing he drank would quench his thirst. At quick care they did a blood glucose test and it tested to high(anything over 600) for the monitor to read so they needed to draw his blood and send it to the lab for immediate testing. They told us normal blood sugar levels are between 70-100 and anything 250-300 are considered dangerous and high. After the blood test results came back we were told that it was at 900 and they were shocked he wasn't in a coma. They transferred him to the ER to get immediate treatment to bring down his high blood sugar levels.

At the ER he was put on an IV for fluids so he could get rehydrated and also a insulin drip. With high blood sugar your body dehydrates you by constantly flushing out the fluid to try and get rid of the sugar in the blood. He was then transferred by ambulance to another hospital with a CCU/ICU. He was in the ICU for the rest of that day and night and the next afternoon transferred to the floor because they were able to get his blood sugar levels down to a more decent level. He was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and shown the ins and outs of taking his BG levels, giving himself insulin shots and how to eat with diabetes to keep his BG in good ranges. He was released late afternoon on Monday. Being diagnosed with this is very overwhelming because you have to get used to a new life style and make big changes to keep yourself healthy.

Raul, Brody and Beyla are now all sick with this NASTY chest cold. It's horrible and I feel so bad for them. My brother is getting married in Utah on Saturday so we get to travel for the first time of a family of 4 but 3 are sick... not so fun. I'm really hoping and praying that it passes soon and that Beyla doesn't get the full force of it. Hopefully if I do get it it is after everyone else is over it, that way I can be feeling fine and not sick while caring for Brody and Beyla.

Tomorrow is another busy day starting off with two doctor appoints in the morning.
